Hazel seems to be feeling much better. Her fever broke and while she’s still a little touchy, she managed to eat a solid dinner and dole out a slew of kisses before bed. I think that is a good sign. Thanks to all who sent well wishes to my munch.
I caved this morning and dug out my pair of maternity jeans from last pregnancy. At 6 months pregnant this doesn’t exactly come as a surprise but resigning yourself to elastic-waisted clothes is one of the less fun milestones of this whole baby-growing business. I know I am not supposed to say this but I really freaking miss 1. Alcohol and 2. having a flat stomach. (Thankfully I know that the baby on the way is so worth these sacrifices)
Somewhat related, I don’t quite have an accurate grasp of just how big my belly really is. Today, for instance, when I tried to squeeze past a coworker (an engineer no less) my bump actually grazed his backside. Seriously - my bump touched his butt. I am not sure who was more horrified.
A package arrived today from My Bro-in-Laws, Andrew & Kevin. Inside: the Jonathan Adler Baboon Water Pitcher. Talk about a FANTASTIC housewarming gift! A playful and charming luxury piece that I would lust after forever but never actually treat my self to….Thanks bro!
Microdermabrasion is a miracle wand. No exaggeration. One visit to my facial chick for some high-octane (pregnancy-safe) exfoliation and it’s like she dusted the cobwebs right off my face. If your skin is feeling dull, I can’t recommend this highly enough!
My favorite thing I read all day: A Goodman Theatre + Aviary Cocktail Collaboration. Achatz Cocktails honoring a Eugene O’Neill play with a dose of Dennehy mixed in?! C’mon…you know I loved that!
Simon and I spent a decent portion of our night looking through the Meet the Spellers section of the National Spelling Bee website. Those bios provided HOURS of entertainment and some genuine belly laughs. Precious!
Heads-Up: Only 3 days left of Shoe & Bag week on Ebates (one of my favorite times of the year!). Not yet a member? By all means sign-up to get straight-up cashback on literally everything you buy online!
Finally, Thanks for reading my blog.
Seriously. I sure love this little community we have built and I am immensely grateful for every single one of you who I get to interact with on a daily basis through comments and likes and emails and messages. You make my days brighter.
