Let’s talk about Juicing. For me, it all started with an ill-conceived juice fast in college where I opted out of the dining hall offerings for a few days and drank my meals instead.  Orange Juice, Diet Sprite, Chocolate Milk, Frappuccinos.  (hot mess!)  Needless to say this did absolutely nothing to elevate me to some new plane of health.  In fact, all I accomplished was a series of sugar crashes that left me grumpy and hungry.  Epic Fail.Fast forward:  January 2009. I was ready to juice again, but this time I wanted to do it right.  I worked with a raw vegan center in Chicago on a 30 day cleanse that culminated with a juice fast. 3-5 days of juice as a way to give our bodies the break it needs to eliminate toxins.  I know there are varying opinions on the benefits of juicing, but for me the experience was remarkable.  As the end I felt clearer.  Invigorated.  Skinny. Hooked!A few weeks ago, I kicked off my first post-baby raw vegan stint and I figured this was a perfect opportunity to try a Pressed Juicery cleanse.  Pressed Juicery specializes in 100% raw/unpasteurized and since opening last year they have earned a loyal and passionate following of bite-sized juicing enthusiasts (MK Olsen, Nicole Richie, Rachel Zoe have all been spotted drinking the juices).  They have 2 locations in LA and recently started shipping nationwide (overnight/packed in ice). and of course there is one other little detail:  The juices are INCREDIBLE!
I have done my fair share of detoxing over the past few years and I have never tried a juice that comes even remotely close to being as satisfying and tasty as the menu Pressed Juicery offers.  With a typical cleanse, the end result justifies days of choking down swamp-water disguised as juice, but this detox was different.  For three days I got to enjoy an array flavors so delicious and filling that the whole detox was a piece of cake (…well, not cake, but you know what I mean.)On my menu:
Green Juice (kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber, celery, apple, lemon)
Root Juice (beet, carrot, kale, spinach, romaine, parsley, cucumber, celery)
Detox 1 (Lemon, cayenne pepper, filtered water):  my favorite!  this one tasted like spicy lemonade!
Almond Milk  (almonds, dates, vanilla bean, sea salt, filtered water): Milkshake-like providing the perfect amount of something-sweet at the end of the day
pineapple pear, ginger, mint
Apple Lemon Ginger
Chlorophyll h2o

I was so excited about this new-to-me product, I shared sips of my juice with anyone who would try.  Everyone else loved it too!
Whether you are in the market for a full-blown detox or just some super juices to supplement your diet…I highly encourage you to check out Pressed Juicery.
Two green-thumbs up!

I am often skeptical of rave reviews on a sponsored post, but I’m telling you guys…this box of samples was like green-juice crack.  I am already planning my next cleanse.  Who’s with me?
