A Family Meal at Balsan
From what I can tell, Hazel is shaping up to be quite an adventurous eater (for a 9 month old without incisors, that is).  From stinky cheese to kale chips to wagyu jerky, she gladly munches on any morsels we share with her.
In an attempt to encourage our little foodie baby to keep on munching, we try to take her out to eat as often as possible - exposing her to the chefs of our city….
but here’s the thing, it is sort of a pain in the ass to take a baby to a restaurant (am I right?), not to mention the fact, many of the nicer spots in the city aren’t exactly baby friendly (totally fair)….
So when we find an inspiring meal served in a place that welcomes infant diners, it feels like we hit the restaurant jackpot.
Such was the case with Balsan.
A couple of weekend ago, we visited this gastropub located in the top-rated Elysian Hotel and were blown away.
Check this out…instead of those awkward wooden highchairs, they brought Hazel out a super-sweet Bloom Nano Seat.  A nice highchair at a restaurant - revolutionary!  Hazel lounged in style with her snacks resting on the tray (rather than being flung onto the floor)…
but more importantly she was comfortable…and a comfortable baby means less wiggling aboutand less wiggling about means parents can enjoy their meal with both handswhich ultimately results in a much more pleasant dining experience for all involved.
Add this little detail to the fact that the food was wicked delicious and I think we have a new hot-spot added to my list of favorites.
Well done Balsan.
