a sunny sunday

This weekend was unlike most in that we had no plans…

Nowhere we had to be or people to see or things to do

Well, there was plenty we should have done..
like finding dining room chairs, getting our china out of storage and shopping for nursery furniture, but those to-do’s aren’t going anywhere - so we decided to just take some time to enjoy this first weekend in July.

Yesterday we were up and out bright and early
Sunday morning in the park sounded kind of perfect.
It was 100 degrees by 9 am
(that may not be true, but it sure felt like it)
So we went to find water.
splashing, spraying, playing water.

With breakfast and swim diapers in tow, we headed to Crown Fountain
(benefits of waking up with the sun include getting street parking in the loop and beating the crowds in public gathering spaces)

It’s no surprise, really…but Hazel LOVED it.

I’ve gotta say there are times where being a parent can be overwhelming or challenging or frustrating or mundane (or a combination of all 4 at once)…but mostly, being a parent is WAY MORE AWESOME than I ever could have imagined.

My little girl made this sunny Sunday in July positively unforgettable.

*every now and then my camera perfectly captures the spirit of the day (maybe it’s the light….maybe it’s the surrounding).  This set of photos are some of my favorites I have snapped in a long while.
