a secret for my mimi
3 days ago, my grandma went into the hospital….
2 days ago, she underwent open heart surgery.
We are not out of the woods. Not yet, at least.
We need mimi to turn the corner.
We need her to find her strength….
Tonight, my dad had a moment alone with his mama in the ICU.
He took a break from watching the numbers on the monitors and checking the lines coming out of her chest.
“Mom, I have a secret for you….”
Mimi is still not responsive, but that didn’t stop him from leaning in close and whispering our baby-to-be’s name in her ear.
Outside of our parents & siblings, she is now the only one who knows.
My grandma loves a good secret.
