Hazel’s very favorite activity (or rather, her very favorite activity that doesn’t involve her books) is standing at the windows in our great room watching for buses to pass.
I mean, she LOVES it.
She cheers and waves and counts (up to 2, since that is the highest number she knows) each time a bus goes by…
CTA or School Bus.
She does not discriminate.
Today Simon and I thought she might get a kick out of actually riding a bus…
So as soon as she is up from her nap, we are going to leave Felix with the Nanny and Simon and I are going to take Hazel on her first public transportation adventure! Our plan is to catch the 22 at the stop on our corner and ride it up Clark street. We are going to stop for ice cream, look for sister tees at Threadless …and more likely than not hit-up a record store.
We shared this idea with her last night….and as she laid in her crib this morning, waiting for us to get her up - we could hear her talking all about buses (and by that I mean…she just kept repeating the words: Bus! & Yes!)
I have a feeling this adventure is going to be a hit!
