My claque for the reading: Aarti, Rachel, Ellie, Simon & my girls!
(dress: Club Monaco)
Saturday morning was the babyGap Peter Rabbit launch event…
and we had such a fantastic time!
I was delighted by the turn-out and how stylish the bite-size crowd was (seriously it was the most fashionable gathering of children I think I have ever seen)!
I got a total kick out of reading to the kids…stuff like this is right up my alley. I couldn’t believe the kids actually listened! Such a captive little audience.
I also got to meet/see some wonderful fellow bloggers! Shout-Outs to Kelly, Aline, Darlyn & Gretchen.
Not to be dork, but I was totally honored when I got the email asking me a reader (I was excited that Z & Fee would get to see their mama like that) and I really appreciate all of your encouragement.
And thank you babyGap for the opportunity.
Mad love & Mr. MacGregor,
I have read this book to Z & Fee about 100 times today….
practicing for my reading at babyGap this weekend!
I am really quite excited.
Ellie, Simon and the girls are coming with me to act as a sort of storytime cheer section. (I wonder if Hazel will want to help turn the pages as I read to the group - like she does here at home.)

I hope you can join us - it would be great to see some friendly faces!
(And don’t forget to bring gently used Children Books to donate to the Milk + Bookies drive!)
I am thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration with @babyGap!
To celebrate the launch of the newest babyGap collection, Peter Rabbit, I was asked to do an in-store reading of “The Further Tale of Peter Rabbit!”
(Me leading a children’s story hour?!
Hazel is going to think her mom is a total rockstar. Ha!)
I would love to invite any of my Chicago area readers (and your tots) to join us. In addition to my animated oration, there will be snacks and activities and shopping, of course.
To makes things even cooler, this event is in partnership with Milk & Bookies, and guests are invited to bring gently used books to be donated to a local Boys & Girls club.
I couldn’t be more excited about this opportunity and hope to see you there (with Kids & Books in tow)!
